Large OLED new technology
transcending the limitations
of image quality and
performance

“Meta Technology 2.0” improves luminance, a key element of image quality, by approximately 42% compared to the existing brightest product, achieving a maximum luminance of 3,000 nits—making it the brightest among existing OLED TV panels.

Building on the foundation of our previous technology, "Meta Technology 2.0" has upgraded "MLA" (Micro Lens Array) to "MLA+" and elevated "Meta Booster" to "Meta Multi Booster." By integrating our proprietary Detail Enhancer technology, we have significantly improved luminance (brightness) to an impressive 3,000 nits.

  • MLA+ is a micrometer lens pattern optimized through big data analysis to emit even the smallest amount of light lost due to internal reflection of the panel.
  • Meta Multi Booster is an algorithm that analyzes multiple videos to precisely optimize image quality by enhancing color luminance and maximizing brightness—an inherent strength of LG Display OLED panels. It intricately implements HDR effects, making brighter areas even brighter and darker areas even darker.
  • Detail Enhancer is a full-gray image quality enhancement algorithm that ensures consistent and accurate color expression in both bright and dark videos. It introduces a new approach to data processing in OLED “Pixel Dimming” technology, which controls the light of each pixel individually. By incorporating this technology, the unique color of the subject and the original author's intention are accurately conveyed in any video.

LG Display Gaming OLED enhances the immersive gaming experience by incorporating overwhelming performance into the unique three-dimensional image quality of OLED, where pixels emit light individually without the need for a backlight." Featuring the fastest response speed (0.03ms) and an ultra-high refresh rate (up to 480Hz) among existing panels, it delivers clearer and smoother movement even during rapid screen transitions. With the application of a special polarizer, it minimizes the “mirror image” phenomenon, preventing surrounding objects from reflecting on the screen in dark scenes. Furthermore, the ultimate image quality is achieved by employing “ultra-fine lenses (MLA, Micro Lens Array)” that maximize light emission from organic matter, along with the new technology “Meta Technology”.

The amount of harmful blue light emitted is half that of LCD, and there is no screen flicker that can cause headaches. As a result, there is less eye fatigue when gaming for a long time.

  • 27” QHD 480Hz Gaming OLED
  • 31.5” UHD OLED
  • 34” & 39” WQHD Gaming OLED
  • 45” WQHD Bendable OLED

The 27-inch QHD 480Hz Gaming OLED panel supports an ultra-high frame rate of 480 images per second, ensuring smoother and clearer content even during fast screen transitions, and delivering an optimal gaming experience.

The 31.5-inch OLED, with UHD's (3840x2160) resolution, not only supports games but can also be used in everyday life in various ways, such as office work and content viewing.

The 34-inch and 39-inch Gaming OLED panels offer a more comfortable gaming experience with an ultra-wide screen ratio of 21:9.

The 45-inch Bendable OLED not only features a flat screen like a regular monitor but can also adjust its curvature up to 800R to suit game content, providing users with a more immersive gaming experience.

The Transparent OLED is the exclusive globally leading product solely mass-produced by LG Display. It maximizes the advantages of OLED, emitting light on its own without the need for a backlight.

It enhances space usability with transparency high enough to substitute glass windows, achieving accurate color expression unique to OLED, and providing design freedom. With lower heat generation than LEDs, it is well-suited for indoor use and can be installed in diverse spaces such as windows, walls, and floors at all sizes based on the user's needs as it ensures its infinite expandability.

  • 30” Contact Kiosk
  • 30” Half & Half Showcase
  • 30” Access

The 77-inch Beyond demonstrates the potential of how large-sized transparent OLED can be utilized in retail stores. The clear and definite video expression of 4K is well-suited for large-scale advertising signage. It can effectively promote products through runway show videos, featuring moving walking, and seamlessly blend with the store's interior.

The 55-inch Layered Shelf is a conceptual shelf structure created by arranging regular OLED panels and transparent OLEDs front and back. Not only can it deliver product promotional content in a unique and immersive way, but it can also effectively convey detailed product information and brand stories to visitors.

Unlike existing kiosks, the 30-inch Contact Kiosk is a concept that maximizes openness and harmonizes seamlessly with the store interior. "An enjoyable interactive shopping experience is realized by vertically placing a 30-inch transparent OLED and applying Add-on Touch Technology.

The 30-inch Half & Half Showcase is a concept that combines low-reflective glass and transparent OLED. Detailed information about the products displayed in the showcase can be promoted, or a three-dimensional expression of product promotion can be provided through the printing panel on the back.

The 30-inch Access concept can space a transparent OLED in front of the product to highlight the displayed product through an overlay effect or it can be positioned behind the product to enhance the aesthetic value of the store interior.

Automotive display solutions:
accelerating the innovation
of future cars

Automotive Display

LG Display is expanding its automotive display business and reinforcing its position as the world leader by leveraging differentiated technologies such as P-OLED, Advanced Thin OLED (ATO), and LTPS LCD.

P-OLED is a premium lineup that employs flexible plastic as a substrate, making it lightweight and bendable while maintaining excellent image quality, while ATO is a new product with a reasonable price range that utilizes a glass substrate. LTPS LCD offers advantages in realizing larger sizes and higher resolutions compared to existing LCDs.

All automotive OLEDs, including P-OLED and ATO, are equipped with tandem OLED devices, a core technology developed for the first time in the industry by LG Display. Tandem OLED is characterized by superior durability, including high brightness and a long lifespan, achieved by stacking the organic light-emitting layer in two layers, surpassing the existing single-layer technology.

CES 2024

Including the world's largest automotive display, the "57-inch Pillar to Pillar (P2P) LCD," which earned the "CES 2024 Innovation Award," and the largest among existing slideable panels, the "32-inch Slideable OLED," the classification is divided into Shift to SDV, Evolution of SDV, and Beyond SDV, based on the development phases of Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). Users can experience remarkable advancements in display through three types of concept cars applying optimized automotive display solutions for each development phase.

  • Shift to SDV
  • Evolution of SDV
  • Beyond SDV

In the transition phase, vehicle displays are growing and expanding with the full-scale introduction of SDVs. With the “Ultra Large P-OLED P2P,” users can access various functions, including basic driving information and content viewing. The application of the “17-inch Foldable OLED” for rear seat entertainment (RSE) allows passengers to enjoy movies on a large screen. This setup offers a new experience that transcends the boundaries of devices, enabling features like adjusting the folding angle to use it as a 12.3-inch tablet.

In the evolutionary stage, the car is defined as “a space where movement and rest coexist.” Introducing “Pop-up type 48-inch LTPS LCD' and “18-inch Slideable OLED” that activate the display according to the user's needs, LG Display presents “user-centered solutions.”

In the future stage where full self-driving becomes possible, we propose transforming the car into a “daily space” rather than just a means of transportation by applying ultra-large vehicle displays such as the “57-inch P2P LCD” and “32-inch Slideable OLED” at the location where traditionally the steering wheel had been placed.
